Suitable for
Potential and practising project managers wishing to demonstrate their knowledge of the fundamental areas of project management.
Ideally, delegates considering a classroom option should have a significant amount of project related experience and knowledge, and should already be working in a project focused environment. Delegates with little or no project management experience should follow the more comprehensive blended learning options, based around TPG Academy’s Core Courses.
Summary
The Association for Project Management APMP is a knowledge based foundation level qualification, enabling participation in all kinds of projects from individual assignments through to large capital projects.
The exam syllabus is based upon the APM Body of Knowledge (BoK).
Content

- Planning and strategy
- Executing the strategy
- Techniques
- Business and commercial
- Organization & governance
- People and profession.
Objectives
At the end of this course delegates will be able to:
- Define project management terms
- Explain the principles of project management
- Describe project management methods, tools and techniques
- Explain important people skills appropriate to effective project management
- Sit the APMP exam.
Exam Structure
The 3 hour written exam consists of questions designed to demonstrate the candidate’s knowledge of the varying aspects of project management, as well as their understanding of key project management techniques.
Papers are marked by the APM and results are usually available 6 - 8 weeks after the exam.
Distance Learning
This option is available distance learning – Online, CD or on Paper
As with the classroom options, this course will cover the 29 syllabus areas of the APM BoK in a blended learning format. The time taken to complete this course will depend upon the chosen method of study, but on average the study time required is approximately 80 hours. It is possible to complete it faster, or to take longer according to preference and experience.

- APMP Syllabus and Candidate Guidance Notes
This course does not include the APMP exam preparation event or exam fees.
Although not included as part of this course, delegates who wish sit the APMP at a later date may complete their studies by attending the 2 Day APMP Exam Preparation and Exam course.
Members of the Association for Project Management are advised to contact us quoting their membership number at time of booking to receive reduced exam fees.
